An Extraordinary Celebration
Singapore’s Largest Inclusive Performance Platform
Since its inception in 2018, An Extraordinary Celebration (AEC) has brought together students from Special Education (SPED) schools and mainstream schools to train, rehearse, and perform together.
Now in its 7th year, AEC brings students together not just to perform, but to rehearse, learn, and grow as one cast. Through this shared experience, they build confidence, discipline, and friendships.
The platform allows us to identify and develop individuals with potential, particularly in the visual and performing arts.
Selected students continue their journey through EPL’s programmes, creating pathways towards greater independence and participation in the community.
An Extraordinary Celebration 2026: Legacy of Love
On 30 July 2026, Extra•Ordinary People proudly presents the 7th edition of An Extraordinary Celebration at The Theatre at Mediacorp.
Legacy of Love honours the educators, trainers, and mentors who journey alongside our performers, while celebrating the friendships formed between students across SPED and mainstream schools.
This year, close to 400 performers will come together in a vibrant showcase of music, dance, and collaborative performance.
Shaped by the creative vision of Najip Ali, this year’s celebration brings these stories of inclusion and shared growth to life. Audiences will also experience a specially curated act by Nathan Hartono, as he shares the stage with performers from SPED and mainstream schools in a meaningful collaboration.
Together, the programme offers a heartfelt celebration of talent, connection, and the power of growing through shared experiences.
A Platform Beyond the Stage
AEC extends beyond those who perform. Each year, the concert reaches approximately:
- 3,000 audience members onsite
- 12,000–15,000 viewers online
Through this, the platform contributes to greater awareness and understanding of disability, shaping how inclusion is experienced in everyday life.
Inclusion is not presented as a concept, but experienced through shared spaces, shared effort, and shared outcomes.
