‘Transforming Attitudes Towards Disabilities’, or TA>D for short, was Extra•Ordinary People’s pioneering ground-up platform to propel the inclusion agenda forward through collaborative solutioning and social design. This inaugural event took place on 13 October 2023 at Temasek Polytechnic, with 9 dynamic speakers and 5 panelists from diverse backgrounds. They shared straight-from-the-heart stories that reaffirmed the vibrancy of humanity in Singapore.
Facilitating the forum was emcee Fathima Zohra, an inclusive employment recruiter and disabilities advocate.
The forum kicked off with a 5-person panel who discussed on ‘Not Without Us: Perspectives on Disability and Inclusion in Singapore’. The panelists included Prof Meng Ee Wong (moderator), Jace Tay, Grace Lee-Khoo, Tan Siew Ling and Sherry Toh. Each of them shared passionately about their challenges and triumphs.
The following sessions were deeply profound talks and insights by Pearl Lee, Fiona Tan, Sherry Soon, Erna Fauzana, Shalom Lim, Dr Azariah Tan, Bernard Chew, Muhammad Arshad Fawwaz and Fathima Zohra.
TA>D was memorable forum that brought individuals with or without disabilities, schools, community groups, corporates, and government agencies together.
